Interxion to launch Whitepapers at NAB
NAB, the world’s leading broadcast and media show, kicks off in Las Vegas tomorrow. High on the agenda will be continuing rise of TV Everywhere and OTT video and the benefits and challenges of managing and delivering media in the cloud.
FirstPartner recently worked with Interxion, Europe’s leading provider of cloud- and carrier-neutral colocation data centre services, on a piece of research exploring the opportunities and challenges facing media companies as they seek to maximise their opportunities in this rapidly transforming market. The results of the work are captured in two jointly authored whitepapers which Interxion will officially launch at NAB.
Interxion’s Bryan Hill, with whom we worked on the research, gives an overview of some of the key themes in the Interxion blog.
During the course of the research we spoke to some of the leading players delivering these services. What we found most interesting was the complexity of the task of securely delivering and storing vast volumes of content, to multiple devices in a number of different formats. The challenges can be even greater when live broadcast is being delivered. Cloud delivery is an increasingly important enabler providing the flexibility to match fluctuations in demand and distribute the workflow amongst SaaS based partners as required. This in turn raises its own challenges.
To get the full story, we strongly recommend reading the whitepapers, which can now be downloaded from Interxion’s website. If you would like to know more, please do contact us or get in touch with Interxion, who would be happy to meet with you if you are at NAB.
